Mission: It's... A Bus Station
Location: Station Chief's Office
Timeline: May 6th, 2020 - 1115 Hours

Well... The carpenters fixed the floors and replaced the wall that smelled of sewage. The cleaners had just sanitized the place too. Now the furnishings were arriving in a steady flow.

The dispatcher's office arguably was the coolest room in the building. A sliding glass window that faced the front door so they could see into the visitor's waiting area. Inside, it was a technical marvel of MaxTech computers with holographic GPS popping out from the 34" wall monitor adjacent to the glass window, which located all Ecto fleet via live feeds. Honestly, Ash wished that was her office because her own was pretty sparse.

It looked as you'd expect for an executive's office. An L-shaped oak desk with the latest MaxTech 2-in-1 desktop-integrated flat-panel 32" screen. Along the wall, there was a shelf of two levels attached atop the desk. On the shelf were pictures of her high school friends, her cadet corps at Texas A&M, and many pictures of her Naval unit postings and the people of the GB Philly station.

Her chair was massively huge when she sat in it. Black comfy leather too. Her dog lounged in the corner by the trashcan and in between her owner's chair. Ash still hadn't quite figured out what she wanted in the way of decorations for the walls, but that would come later.

As she looked at her Generation II MaxTech MaxPhone, she saw it was time for her next interview. Well... first. The foreign ghostbuster applicants would arrive with a job already guaranteed, but she still planned to interview them all the same. To get to know them.

As Ash exited her office, she smiled at the dull blue carpet on the floor. It smelled new and looked great. She hoped it would stay this way but doubted it.

"Miss Takei!" Ash called to the visitor's area. "I'll see you now."

Ash gestured to the two 360-rotating armchairs inside her office.

Hearing her name, she looked up as Chiyo stood up and walked after Ash into the office. Looking around she would notice the tech that was in it, it was state of the art technology and it made her wonder what kind of buster station this was going to be. Taking the seat, she could smell that even the chairs were very new. Blinking a bit as she looked in the direction of the woman "Takei Chiyo..." she introduced herself rather loosely.

"Ash Shultz," Ash smiled genuinely while she came to the front of her desk and leaned against it. "I see you as well spent some time in the Navy. The Security Forces division... You do a lot of gate duty, or did you eventually get out of that and specialize in K9 or Protective Services?"

"I... didn't get that far. I was more specialized in combat and was dishonorably discharged from duty" Chiyo kept her posture rather uncomfortable as she wanted to stay sharp trying to analyze Ash better, thought the woman only sent out an aurora of calmness and brightness. What was her deal, what would she gain in a place like this. She looked a bit around, trying to grasp the situation of what she was actually applying for.

"So... a second chance," Ash surmised as she came around her desk and sat in her chair. "It took me a while to figure out my calling in life. I chose the Navy to have a family and feel as if I was doing something that served a greater purpose. But in the end, I didn't feel quite right - Ghostbusters International is where I fit. But that's just my story. You?"

Ash let that direct question hang in the air for a bit. It was at that moment Ash figured out both were sussing the other. "...Well, I can give second chances to people too. More so if they can work as a member of our team. Because like the military, sometimes the jobs we get, we stand in mortal peril."

She wanted to stand up, sit a bit further from the woman, but Chiyo didn't react and kept her facial expression the same. She let the question echo into the back of her mind and refreshed her of the horrors she had witnessed rubbing her right leg softly "I will do what is required of me, your order I will follow," Avoiding the question about her reasoning for being here. Chiyo avoided eye contact a bit as she didn't feel talking about her past.

"Right..." Ash reached low in her desk, where the integrated safe was. She pulled out a protective case with the NCGB logo, along with a brand new phone. As she opened up the phone from its box, she continued the interview. "Given your skillset, I see no issues with you as a Trainee Paranormal Combatant... Do you understand what that role entails?

Clearly Ash was doing something on the company computer. Keying the phone to Takei as she listened to the woman among filling out other dull paperwork management had to do for new hires.

"I am but a mere tool in the training of the ghostbusters equipment. My role is that of the original ghostbusters to combat and resolve ghost problems at any means required," Chiyo said with no remorse or emotion in her voice, she looked at the phone and wondered if she was hired based on these few questions.

"Everyone here is trained for basic ghost combat," Ash informed very soberly. "But your job is much more specialized. Over time, you'll learn to plan and strategize and form complex combative solutions for fighting ridiculously strong and malicious ghosts. And you'll also have to protect the scientists and support staff in the field when shit hits the fan... The ones we pay to be cerebral, build our equipment, and study our enemy in ways we don't. So we need to be their meat shield if it's called for."

She narrows her eyes and stands up taking a deep breath then suddenly placed her right foot onto the desk and pulled her jeans up revealing a deep scare wound as if a wild dog had ripped into it. Teeth marks and scratches "I don't mind, I had my fair share of being the meatshield even when I was small." She placed her foot back on the ground and placed her hands onto Ash desk leaning forward, "Just point me to a direction and I catch these ghost without a single scratch on your people."

"Consider yourself hired," Ash informed. She would have smiled and shaken the woman's hand if not for the fact she had just seen the vicious scar. "Here's your phone. Charge it, keep the protective case on it. Our company's emergency notification app is already loaded. Whenever Dispatch needs to send out a team, you'll be notified if you're on the mission. And please don't sext or do dumb shit on it. Dispatch and I have access to activity and communication logs. And if you break it, you pay at least half of the cost for the replacement."

Looking at the woman for a second as she grabs the phone and looked at it. “Are there cases that we get sent to on solo assignment?” She wondered a bit about it, there are a lot of so-called ghost sightings and it made Chiyo wonder what they be covering. “Plus how is your mental help? People might get traumatized from in-field experience?”

"I assume if we get a paranormal psychologist, that they'll double-up on that side of things. But you get health insurance benefits. So free to see anyone in town," Ash supplied. "Benefits don't kick in until you are a Level 1... Even then, higher-level busters don't go out alone on cases. Pairs, at minimum. Teams of 3-4 are preferred, for safety. But if there are low-level ghosts, we'll let Trainees go with Level 1s and 2s without direct supervision, for the experience."

Ash made a note to go to the tech storage locker in the basement, for the MaxTech MaxTab tablets later. Along with the official uniform. For now, she walked Takei out of the office and pointed to the whiteboard on the wall, between her office and the staircase.

"This is where we put station chores for everyone who lives here. Trainees are housed here until you successfully prove competent at general ghostbusting skills," Ash explained. "And while I don't require people to wear the jumpsuit to crisp military standards, Trainees are required to wear their rank on the collars. It lets the others here see you're new. We deal with nuclear materials and ghosts, so the station staff needs to know who is and isn't experienced with either of those things."

Looking at the board seeing no name on it yet made Chiyo narrow her eyes. “Quick state of observation here, but am I your first hired person?” Looking at Ash she blinks and sighs “Nevermind, where can I crash?” She asks bluntly getting her bag and waited for the direction.

"Upstairs... Kitchen's wood floors were waxed, so careful as you pass through," Ash cautioned while she led the new hire up the flight of stairs. "You're first to be hired, but you and I aren't the only ones on the roster. Mister Ford will be your supervisor. He's an excellent paranormal combatant..."

As they reached the top of the stairs, Ash pointed down the hallway. "Women's bunks are second door to your right. Bathroom and showers are co-ed - first door to your left."

Looking at the area as she nods, “Then I’m off, better get first dibs on a bunk” without looking back at Ash she moved upstairs to the second floor and into the direction of where the women were sleeping. She hoped that it stayed quiet but could bet her money on it that there was lots of adventures coming her way. She stood still as if she felt being watched. Chiyo looked outside and saw nothing, but the feeling was familiar.

Ash slowly went back down the stairs and smiled brightly as Dilla came jingling up to her feet with a low whine. The poor dog did not like being away from Ash for too long.

"I think she's rough... but so was I when I first worked for Bishop," Ash told her pet. The station chief had high hopes for the younger woman.
