Next on the List...

Mission: It's... A Bus Station
Location: NCGB HQ
Timeline: May 6th, 2020 - 1515 Hours

Ash had fun in her new car. Got new tags, paid taxes at the DMV while in Wake Forest. DMV in Raleigh would have taken hours. So as she drove up to the corner where NCGB was, she noticed someone sitting in the visitor area. Ford may of let them in.

When the light turned green, the Station Chief turned her grey Metro convertible down the side street and into the bus loading area - may as well be a parking lot now. And once the car was parked, she picked up her folder with her title in it and then exited the car, locked the door, and then shut it.

Entering the from the rear door, the place smelled of lilac-scented Febreze, which made her smile. Anything was better than the original smell. Comotion in the basement told Ash that Ford was likely down there inspecting the armory. The visitor lounge, however, was the newest improvement. Comfy sofa that looked out to the street and a small 20" flat panel tv was on. Some silly hunting show.

Ash pulled her navy-blue company polo down to look less disheveled and smiled. "I hope you hadn' been waitin' long?"

Really? Only been in NC a few days, and her syntax was reverting back to it!?

"Not too long," Kitt said, perking up at someone talking to him. To tell the truth, the combination of the comfy couch and the hunting show was making him a little sleepy. He smiled back. "Y'all have a nice place." He said.

"We try to make the waiting area comfy for clients and VIP donors," Ash explained with a smirk. "Plus, a nice place to come after hours, when the crew is upstairs being rowdy... Are you a walk-in applicant? Or a client?"

"I guess you could say I'm a walk-in," Kitt said. "I haven't been in Raleigh long and I saw an ad in the paper that y'all were hirin'. Something just told me to come."

"With me, then," Ash smiled. "I'm Ash Shultz. Station Chief. You're likely to run into Mister Ford a lot too. He's our Chief Ghostbuster, more-or-less."

She pointed to her office and walked in, then sat in her chair and began to put her documents into the safe. "So why apply? This isn't a glamorous job, by any means."

"Well, like I said I haven't been here long, and The room and board the ad mentioned certainly sounded appealing. And honestly, to get me out of the rut that is retail. You can tote boxes for so long before you begin to lose it." He began.

"But to be serious, I've been looking for a change. In both location and job. A fresh start I guess."

"...And the type of retail you do, I'm guessing, is terrible." Ash nodded, completely understanding. "So what's your name, age, and are you OK working around above-normal levels of radiation?" Ash began to fill in the information on an open datasheet on her PC.

"Thirty-two come June. Names Kitt Murrow. And...sure?" He said Radiation? Wonder if I bring a bag of popcorn, will it cook? He flashed a little grin. "Need my ID, anything like that?"

"When I start orientation, I'll ask for it," Ash answered while she quickly added the new information to her files. "Have you ever been convicted of theft, or in possession of controlled substances?"

Which reminded Ash. She needed to look at the backgrounds of the other applicants. They, of course, had already filled that information out, but criminal background checks were standard in their line of work.

"Never anything like that," Kitt said. He scratched his head like he was trying to remember. "There was a misunderstanding when a coworker and I had the same kind of coat but nothing came of it."

"Ok." Ash began to pull a company smartphone from the safe and started to activate it via her computer. "We're fairly new and as a Trainee, you're pretty much stuck to living at the station. Though we will not start orientation for another day or so. So if you need to get your things, you can. Laundry is in the basement. Men's bunks are upstairs - Last door on the left."

"Upstairs to the left, gotcha," Kitt said. "And thanks a lot. My stuff is at the bus depot. Is it possible to have it sent here?" He figured that there was no harm in asking.

"I can drive you," Ash offered as she handed him his phone and protective navy-blue company case with the logo on it. "My only rule... Don't play games or sext or any other dumb shit on your phone. If you really wanna do that stuff, get a personal one."

Ash began to close her safe up and log-off her computer.

Kitt nodded as he clipped the phone to his belt. "Youd take me? Thank you. Thanks a lot even." Kitt lit up

"When you see how small my car is, you'll likely think twice," Ash laughed. "Trunk should fit your things though."

Ash led him out the back exit, of the building, where the Ecto fleet was parked under the covered passenger loading lots. She wanted him to see how cool his job was about to get. And while he took in the fleet, she went to unlock the car and make sure the ragtop was secure in her early 90's Metro.

"It is pretty small." Kitt grinned. "But if it gets the job done. Am I right?" He shrugged.

"Off we go, then." Ash smiled. She loved her car, and liked knowing her station was starting to get the right amount of crew in her.
