Physical Description | Finnegan, or Finn as his closest friend call him, is slowly approaching middle age and it is starting to show. Mostly around his belly at least. He has been trying to combat this with Tai Chi, not to mention the Wing chun he had learned as a kid. While he didn’t lose his left leg in an accident with a drunk driver, it was broken in three places, including a trimalleolar fracture. His left arm was broken in two locations and a long scar runs along his back and several more on his side. Most of the winter he has to talk with a cane. He wears a brace on his left leg to keep it in place. While his arm is close to it's old strength, all of his old wounds still hurt when it gets cold or rainy. His hair is not kept at short, instead he lets it grow out, sometimes letting it get to where it touches his collar. He normally keeps his facial hair neatly trimmed with a beard and mustache. Rarely is he seen out of nice dress pants and a black shirt, unless he has to for work. His green eyes seemed to have lost their shine and wrinkles are starting to show on him. |

Personality & Traits
General Overview | Finn is a very religious person. Which is why he is still an ordained minister. He loves to read and learn things. While he was in the hospital learning to walk again, he poured through many books ranging from religion, to fiction, to the paranormal. Even with his family and faith, he can fall into depression. Normally it is helping of others that he finds his happiness. He rarely mentions his father's family, as they seem to hate him and his siblings. Like many of the cloth, he is laid back. Unlike many, he tries to not judge on sexuality or political differences. Finn is a live and let live kind of person. |

Personal History | Finn was born to Seamus and Darlene Quinn. When his father married his mother, most of Finn’s paternal family, who are quite wealthy, disowned them. Darlene wasn’t what they saw as a good mother. In fact she had come from a very poor family, but Seamus was in love with her. So the two of them moved to Antigo WI, from Texas. There they worked hard, both of them working in a plant that made parts for the military. Finn was the third of three kids. His brother is two years older and his sister is one year older. When Finn was five and a half a years old, his mother was killed on a winter night when she was forced off the highway in a blizzard. Seamus did his best to raise all three kids. It was hard, but he did it. The family realized the young Finnegan was smart as his siblings. Despite being begged to by a doctor, his father didn't have special tests ran on him. This way his life wouldn't be thrown into chaos. When Finnegan turned four, he started see things around their old house. Mostly just wisps that had some kind of human shape. Other times just floating orbs. His father thought he was just using his imagination. Then one night, all of the family watched as a spectral woman descended the stairs to their house. She rounded the corner to the kitchen, but when they all rushed there, she was gone. As he reached his teen years, him and his friends all would go ghost hunting. Trips to the local cemetery. Nothing ever came of it. When he started High school, he was jumped from his Freshmen year, to his junior year for how advanced in the classes he was. Just at the end of his first month in high school, his paternal grandfather came. The old man paraded the money he was worth in front of his grandchildren, teasing them that if they could do well in college, maybe he would give them part of his estate in his will. Finn wasn’t anyone’s fool. This was the first time he had ever met the man and from what he learned later, the first time in twenty years his father had even seen his father. Finn knew the money was most likely a ruse. Something his grandfather was notorious for. Offering money, then backing out. So he figured that no matter what, he would have to pay for college and a university on his own. He knew he wanted to go someplace good. And he was still working on what he could be. So while he was in school, he got approval and began working to save money. For a couple years he did his best. Worked hard and saved every dime. In this time he got on with a landscaping group. Plus he helped his father do work around the house and learned how to do electrical and plumbing work. A friend of his father taught him how to work on vehicles. At sixteen he was taught to drive, which opened up even more freedom for the young man. All through his childhood, he had attended a Methodist church. When his sister came out as Gay to her father, the church found out and ran them off. This also upset Finn, as he seen it as non-christian. So shortly after that, they moved from the Methodist church to a United Church of Christ. After high school he moved to Ashland Wisconsin, on the shores of Lake Superior. There he got a job at an Italian food place while attending Northland college. Three years of almost no fun. In this time, his father's luck turned for the better. His father had lucked out and won on a lottery drawing. Finn didn’t want to put his father out, but as he had been accepted to Yale Divinity school, he needed some money, so he made a deal. Half of the tuition, and he would pay it back as fast as he could. During this time, His Grandfather reappeared and true to form the man belittled Finn. The teen told the old man off, stating he would never take a dime from the callous old man. as he was accepted into the prestigious Ivy league school, the university of Pennsylvania. He worked nights at another Italian restaurant and during his days, he took as many classes as he could. Finally, five years into his schooling, he had to leave his job, as it was making it difficult to obtain his doctorates. By this point he was sure he wanted to be a preacher. After nine years, four as an undergrad and five doing his masters and doctorates, he moved on to seminary school, Where he found the love of his life. Kathy was working at a restaurant near the seminary in Lancaster PA. The two hit it off and as he graduated from the seminary and got a job preaching as reserve speaker at a trio of churches, they married. The first few years as a preacher he was bounced around to three different churches in Lancaster. He had also picked up a job driving big rigs. Within the first five years of married life, they discovered Kathy was unable to have children, but Finn stayed by her side. Tragedy struck in 2016. Finnegan was driving their small car home from a church function. with his wife in the passenger seat. An underage teen, with no licence was on the run from the police. The kid was doing more than four times the posted limit in his father's corvette. He blew through a stop light, plowing into the passenger side of Finn's car. The impact threw their tiny car into a truck next to him, almost ending his life When he awoke a week later, he was given the news that his wife had been killed in the wreck. He was also told that his chances for walking were limited. His left arm was also injured, collar bone broken. Five ribs cracked. Cuts all over his body from the glass and flying metal. The preacher felt lost. Adrift in the sea of life. His wife gone, his own career would have to wait as he tired to see if he could ever walk again. Then his grandfather showed up once more. The old man proceeded to insult to not only Finn's wife, but Finn's parents as well. This made his blood boil. As much as he wanted to yell, he did the Christian thing and sat there, taking the abuse. The next day he resolved to himself and God, that he wasn't done yet. He made a promise that he would walk again. Thus he started to push himself in his therapy sessions. During this time he also moved to live with his sister and her wife and kids in North Carolina. While staying there, he began going to the local church, and renewed his ordination. After nine months of hard work, trying to get himself back into physical shape. Or at least be able to walk, he took the first few shaky steps without a walker. He pushed himself and managed to take the commercial drivers test, which he passed. He barely passed the physical portion, but has vowed to be strong the next go around. Now he lives with his sister, couch surfing. He drives a big rig and preaches when the senior pastors at one of the three United Church of Christ churches need a vacation. |
